The Republican “Trump-a-Palooza” Was Nothing But a Desperate PR Stunt With No Real Solutions for the American People

Washington, DC –  JD Vance and Donald Trump just closed out the GOP dog-and-pony show in Dallas. Just as Vance was preparing to take the stage, diesel prices spiked above $6 per gallon for the first time ever, a historic threshold that will lead to even higher costs for American consumers. This comes on top of Trump-GOP policies that have cost the average American household more than $2,000 through skyrocketing gas prices, utility bills, groceries, health care premiums, and essential goods. As Americans struggle to make ends meet, Trump is cashing in on their pain, raking in as much as $15.5 million on windfall Big Oil profits thanks to his war of choice in Iran.

During their two-day billionaires’ ball, Trump and Republicans offered zero solutions to the energy affordability crisis that they created. Instead, in a desperate bid to convince Americans to vote for his failing party this November, Trump dangled $5,000 ‘dividends’ contingent on a Republican victory. Unfortunately for him, the American people see right through his desperate PR stunt.

Climate Power Communications Director Alex Glass issued the following statement: “Over the past two days at the RNC’s ‘Trump-a-palooza’ in Dallas, Republicans gaslit the American people about the pain they are experiencing at the pump, on their utility bills, and at the grocery store. To hear the Republicans tell it, everyone is better off than they were just 6 months ago, before their war of choice in Iran and escalating tariffs. But here’s a little reality check: Trump has made $15.5 million from his Oil and Gas stocks alone while families and businesses suffer. They may be slapping each other on the back tonight in Dallas, but their party is over when voters hit the polls on November 3rd.”
