Hurricanes And Storms
- As of Thursday evening, heavy rains and flash flooding caused five storm-related deaths in San Antonio, Texas.
- More than seven inches of rainfall were reported in San Antonio on Thursday, closing more than 40 low-water crossings.
- Water surged up to four feet in some areas of the city. Leon Creek reportedly surged to 13 feet.
- On Thursday, a level two out of four risk for flash flooding was issued in parts of Arkansas, northwest Mississippi, western Louisiana, eastern Texas, and eastern Oklahoma.
- Starting Friday, widespread rainfall and thunderstorms are forecast across the central and eastern U.S., with southeast Texas, the Mid-South, and portions of Virginia expected to receive the heaviest rainfall.
