Hurricane Milton
- As of Wednesday morning, Milton weakened once more into a Category 4 hurricane with 155 mph and was located about 250 miles southwest of Tampa.
- Milton will continue to lose some strength today but will remain a major hurricane when it makes landfall in Florida overnight tonight.
- Milton is now forecast to make landfall Wednesday night near Sarasota, south of Tampa, as a low-end Category 4 hurricane with winds of 140 mph.
- Parts of Florida could see up to 10 to 15 feet of life-threatening storm surge from Hurricane Milton.
- Heavy rain of up to 18 inches is expected to inundate parts of central Florida, bringing a high risk of flash flooding.
- Hurricane Milton will ramp up in intensity throughout Wednesday, putting several cities at risk of tornadoes.
