Hurricanes and Tropical Storms
- As of Thursday, Tropical Depression 19 was located 250 miles east of the Honduran island of Guanaja, with maximum sustained winds of 35 mph.
- The tropical depression was expected to strengthen into Sara, the 18th named storm of the season and the 12th hurricane.
- On Thursday, the National Hurricane Center issued hurricane and tropical storm warnings in the Caribbean.
- The Hurricane Center warned that while it was too early to predict its impacts, Florida residents should regularly monitor for updates.
- On Thursday, eleven states along the East Coast were under Coastal Flood Advisories due to higher-than-normal tides.
- Coastal Flood Advisories were issued in counties in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and Alabama due to possible flooding from Friday’s full supermoon high tide.

Extreme Heat
- A new report found that many pregnant women in the U.S., especially in the southern states, face inadequate prenatal care that is complicated by abortion restrictions, air pollution, and extreme heat.
- According to the report, more than 40% of pregnant people in the U.S. were exposed to extreme heat conditions last year, and nearly three-quarters lived in areas with poor air quality.
