Storms And Flooding
- A storm from Canada will unleash strong winds, snow showers, and new rounds of lake-effect snow from Tuesday night to Thursday night across portions of the Midwest and Northeast in the U.S.
- Lake-effect snow is still affecting areas downwind of Lake Erie after several punishing days of winter weather and is expected to last through Wednesday.
- As of Tuesday, about 5 million people are under winter weather and lake-effect snow warnings across the Great Lakes.
Wildfires
- As of November 22, 5 large active wildfires have burned 141,141 acres across MA and NY. This year to date, 51,320 wildfires have burned 8,142,689 acres across the country.
- In Massachusetts, 4 fires have burned 2,479 acres as of Friday.
- In New York, 1 fire has burned 5,304 acres as of Friday.

Extreme Heat
- Climate Central found that 166 out of 191 cities they analyzed in the U.S. were warmer than normal.
- This was the hottest November on record in 15 cities—including all 5 cities in Louisiana—and was also among the top 5 hottest Novembers for an additional 38 cities.
- Brought on by drought conditions and sea level rise, salty ocean water is creeping up the Delaware River, the source for much of the drinking water for Philadelphia.
