Storms and Flooding

• Two storms are expected to merge on the Atlantic coast, bringing rain, gusty winds, and snow for the start of the first weekend of spring along the Eastern Seaboard.
• Another round of storms through Thursday could bring large hail and localized flooding to Houston, Texas.

Wildfires

• Seven months after the devastating wildfires in Lahaina, Hawaii, several indigenous groups are providing cultural monitors to work alongside the cleanup crews.
  • In this cleanup, monitors evaluate each individual property for significant artifacts before the site can be cleared of debris.
  •  To date, about 200 properties have been cleared out of thousands.

Extreme Heat

• Due to nearly a $100 million loss last summer from extreme heat, Washington’s sweet cherry growers are now eligible for federal disaster relief loans to minimize their losses.
