Hurricane researchers from Colorado State University predict that nearly two dozen named tropical storms will form, including 11 hurricanes this Atlantic hurricane season.
On Wednesday, California officials temporarily shut down part of Highway 1 and warned residents to evacuate as spring rain threatened to worsen a road collapse near Big Sur.
On Friday, at least three people are dead, and hundreds of thousands are without power after a nor’easter brought heavy snow and strong winds to parts of the Northeast.
On Friday, a cold, Pacific storm continued to blast Southern California with winter-like temperatures, high winds, and what was expected to be the lowest-elevation snow so far this year, posing a risk for drivers on several mountain roads.
