Hurricanes and Tropical Storms
- A new storm is forecast to strengthen into Hurricane Helene and make landfall on Thursday in the Big Bend area of Florida.
- Rain is expected to begin in Florida Wednesday afternoon into Thursday morning.
- Storm surge could reach up to 15 feet in the Big Bend area.
- A hurricane watch is in effect for Florida’s Gulf Coast and a tropical storm watch was issued from Orlando to the Florida Keys.
