GUIDE: Why prices are soaring under a Trump presidency

Trump’s been hard at work helping his political backers — corporations and billionaires — profit by raising costs for the rest of us on everything from gas to groceries.

He’s attacking our cheapest energy sources, cutting jobs, and making it harder for Americans facing climate disasters to receive life-saving information and recovery resources.

Here’s just a short list of the harmful choices he’s made or attempted to make in just his first six weeks:

• Cut funding for climate action and clean energy;
• Withdrew grants and support for research that references climate change;
• Imposed 25% tariffs on steel and aluminum;
• Imposed mass firings, cutting jobs everywhere from the National Park Service, US Forest Service, and National Weather Service to USAID;
• Removed wind and solar from the definition of energy even though these are the cheapest, most affordable energy options; and so much more.

It all boils down to this: Trump is doing everything he can to help billionaires and corporations keep raking in profits at our expense.
