Rep. Huizenga Interview Proves He’s Focused on Everyone Except West Michiganders Struggling with Skyrocketing Costs

Lansing, MI — During an interview on WOOD TV’s “To The Point” this weekend, U.S. Rep. Bill Huizenga demonstrated that he’s still not willing to do anything to rein in out-of -control prices that are threatening West Michigan’s tourism industry and hurting working families as they face gasoline prices averaging $4.86 a gallon.
Even though Congress is once again on a “break” instead of working to resolve the affordability crisis, Huizenga referenced how he’s been talking to “Japanese contingencies” and “a company looking to purchase refineries from Citgo, the Venezuelan entity” but he’s not spending time with regular constituents while he’s theoretically back home working.
“Huizenga keeps raking in donations from rich oil executives while doing nothing to help West Michigan survive this energy crisis that’s a direct result of Trump’s war in Iran and his war on clean energy here at home,” said Tom Lenard, Michigan State Director for Climate Power. “Huizenga apparently has time for lobbyists and wealthy donors, but what about the rest of us? ”
