Washington, D.C. — Kamala Harris’ visit to Lansing, Michigan, where JD Vance has blasted General Motors’ EV plant, equating over 650 good-paying jobs to “table scraps”, is a stark reminder of what is at stake in this election. Kamala Harris cast the tie-breaking vote to triple clean energy production, creating more than 330,000 good-paying clean energy jobs and increasing investments in clean energy projects, including $500 million to upgrade the General Motors Grand River Assembly plant, creating 650 jobs. Donald Trump has promised to gut these investments, eliminating those jobs and ceding manufacturing to China.

Climate Power Communications Director Alex Glass issued the following statement:

“Kamala Harris’ opportunity economy will protect good-paying clean energy jobs that communities across the country rely on – including 650 at the GM plant in Lansing. Donald Trump and JD Vance are nothing more than Big Oil’s puppets — they are willing to destroy Michigan autoworker jobs and dictate to Americans how they heat their homes and the cars they drive, all while letting their Big Oil donors pollute and profiteer.”
