FACT CHECK: Tom Tiffany is the Only Pro-Data Center Candidate in The Wisconsin Governor’s Race

Tiffany has tried to distract Wisconsinites from the fact that he has cozied up to data center developers
Washington, DC – On the debate stage tonight, Tom Tiffany once again desperately tried to pretend like he’s on Wisconsinites’ sides when it comes to massive data center development. Unfortunately for him, his votes—and the campaign contribution he accepted from a data center lobbyist—tell a very different story: If elected, Tiffany would serve as Trump’s very own personal Governor, helping him ram through his pro-data center agenda while Wisconsinites pay the price with higher utility bills and more polluted air. Tiffany is grasping at straws to save his campaign amidst skyrocketing energy costs thanks to his votes in Congress and abysmal polling for Republicans, but no amount of finger-pointing will change the facts.
FACT: The One Big Beautiful Bill Act—which Tiffany has championed—gave data center developers billions in tax breaks.
FACT: Tiffany voted to fast-track data centers past community objections and even voted to ban Wisconsin from passing its own guardrails on data center expansion.
FACT: Tiffany accepted a campaign contribution from the only lobbyist for the Wisconsin Data Center Coalition.
FACT: The majority of voters prefer data centers powered by clean energy. 62% of voters support data centers powered by new wind and solar, while only 31% support data centers powered by new gas or coal.
