Washington, DC – As Georgians and Arizonans face new rate hikes, Climate Power is launching a six-figure ad campaign to highlight how Trump and Congressional Republicans are making the energy affordability crisis even worse. Trump’s reckless energy policies have canceled or stalled 375 energy projects representing $62 billion in investments, taking enough energy to power 16.8 million homes off the grid and hiking electricity prices by as much as 13%.
The new ad — “Small Price to Pay” — will hold Trump accountable for downplaying the impacts of skyrocketing energy costs for American families. The campaign also includes mail to educate voters about why utility bills are rising.
Climate Power Senior Advisor Jesse Lee issued the following statement: “While Americans are choosing between keeping the lights on, filling the gas tank, and healthcare, Trump is feasting on a buffet of ballrooms and slush funds. It’s easy for Trump and his out-of-touch billionaire donors to say that soaring energy costs are a ‘small price to pay,’ but for Americans struggling with higher costs, the reality could not be more different. These ads will make sure that Georgians and Arizonans know that Trump’s the reason they’re paying higher utility costs and that he’s only looking out for himself.”
