NEW DOE REPORT: CLEAN ENERGY JOBS ARE GROWING FAST AND ALREADY MAKEUP 40% OF ALL U.S. ENERGY JOBS

Growth in Clean Energy Jobs Outpaced Growth in the Energy Industry as Well as Overall Employment Growth in the U.S.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Department of Energy’s U.S. Energy and Employment Report released this week illustrates that America’s clean energy economy is large and growing quickly, providing good paying opportunities to Americans nationwide, and further demonstrating the sector’s security. In fact, two in five energy jobs in America are already found in clean energy industries.

Some highlights from the report include:

“It’s not surprising that we’re seeing our clean energy economy skyrocket to new heights,” said Claire Moser, Deputy Executive Director of Climate Power. “This report is just a little taste of what President Biden’s clean energy plan is already accomplishing. In less than a year since the Inflation Reduction Act’s passage, we’ve seen a huge number of good-paying jobs in the clean energy sector pop up, providing opportunities in every corner of the country. Bidenomics is bringing back Made in America manufacturing, and this is only the beginning!”

Some of the growth highlighted in this report is thanks to President Biden’s historic clean energy plan. Since the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act in August of 2022, over 142,000 clean energy jobs have been advanced across 41 states, totaling $242.81 billion in new investments in 191+ clean energy projects
