ROUND UP: Americans Face More Rate Hikes as Electricity Prices Spike by 18% Under Trump’s Watch

New data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA) shows that utility bills are skyrocketing as concerns about energy costs jump by 10%

Washington, DC – Last weekend, Americans officially kicked off what is expected to be a record-hot summer and according to newly released EIA data, it is going to be more expensive to keep cool. Electricity prices have spiked by 18% under Trump’s watch, but instead of focusing on lowering costs, he is doubling down on not caring about Americans’ financial situations. Meanwhile, customers in five states faced new rate hikes as high as more than 15% in recent weeks.

Trump’s reckless energy policies have canceled or delayed 378 clean energy projects across the country, taking enough energy to power 16.8 million homes off the grid. On top of that, his war of choice in Iran has kickstarted a global energy crisis that is sending gas prices through the roof. With approval ratings that have plummeted to record lows, Trump’s cronies are desperately trying to spin his disastrous energy policies, but voters aren’t buying it.
