Same Interests, Same Wallet: Barrett Cozies Up to Duffy as Costs Keep Climbing for Michigan Families

Lansing, MI – Following U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy’s visit to Lansing today, Climate Power Michigan is calling out Rep. Tom Barrett for welcoming another Trump administration official to his district while Mid-Michigan families continue to face higher gas, utility and household costs.

Climate Power Michigan Director Tom Lenard issued the following statement:

“Of course Tom Barrett is hanging out with Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy. They’re both funded by the same powerful interests they are supposed to hold accountable. Airport improvements are important, but because of Barrett and the Trump administration’s actions, families right now can’t afford to pay for gas or back-to-school supplies, let alone a plane ticket. Instead of holding this administration’s feet to the fire and getting costs down for the people of Michigan, Barrett is buddying up with them and writing them blank checks for their costly wars.”
