Trump Begs for Votes While Arizona Families Face Soaring Energy Prices

BULLHEAD CITY, AZ – Today, President Trump held a rally in Bullhead City as early voting is taking place to garner support for Arizona Republican candidates, including Gubernatorial candidate Andy Biggs.
To no one’s surprise, Trump spent the entire rally blaming President Biden, Governor Katie Hobbs, and Democrats for creating the affordability crisis Arizona families are facing today. The truth: Trump and Republicans are responsible for driving up costs, cutting jobs, and giving tax breaks to data centers.
Donald Trump promised to cut Americans’ energy bills in half in his first year. Instead, Arizona families are paying more at the pump and more on their power bills.
“This is a small price to pay,” said Trump. Since Trump started his war of choice in Iran, gas prices in Arizona spiked 40%. A small price for him and his billionaire friends, not Arizona families already dealing with skyrocketing costs.
Trump bragged about loving tariffs. Trump’s tariffs alone have cost American households $1,700 in 2025 and are expected to cost an additional $820 in 2026. Also, Arizona lost 19,400 jobs due to tariffs.
A new poll finds Governor Katie Hobbs leads Republican Candidate Andy Biggs by 17 points. The same poll also shows that 25-30% of Arizona Republican voters are not supporting their party’s candidates.
Climate Power Arizona State Director Diali Avila issued the following statement:
“Trump said the quiet part out loud: ‘Our country is making more money than it has ever made because of the fact that oil is so high’. Big Oil and billionaires are cashing in while Arizona families get squeezed at the pump and grocery store. Trump and Republicans are driving up gas prices, putting thousands of Arizona clean energy jobs on the chopping block, and sticking communities with the bill for data centers. Arizonans won’t forget who profited while they paid.”
