Trump Embraces Climate Change Denial and Ignores Hurricane Helene Hours Before It Makes Landfall in His Home State

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Hours before Hurricane Helene is expected to make landfall in his home state, Donald Trump held an hour-long press conference veering into outright climate denial while completely ignoring the climate-fueled storm threatening Florida. 

Climate Power Communications Director Alex Glass issued the following statement: “Trump made it crystal clear that he will respond to climate disasters exactly the same way he did during his presidency. He will ignore the suffering of the American people, ignore that communities are being destroyed, and deny that climate change exists while he courts campaign funds from the fossil fuel industry. Donald Trump does not care about the American people. He only cares about himself.”
