Trump’s War on Affordability Continues: Diesel Prices Hit Record Highs As Harvest Season Begins

WASHINGTON, DC — This afternoon, the average price of diesel hit an unprecedented $5.82 per gallon, surpassing the previous all-time high and arriving amidst the highest Labor Day gas prices on record and the upcoming fall harvest, caused purely by Trump’s war of choice in Iran. The spike comes after farmers already struggled with the skyrocketing price of fertilizer at the beginning of the war. Trump promised to slash energy costs, but his administration has instead delivered a compounding affordability crisis for the American people.
