PHOENIX — Two years after the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act, the Biden-Harris clean energy plan is turbocharging the clean energy economy and revitalizing communities across Arizona, as illustrated in Climate Power’s latest Clean Energy Boom report. The clean energy plan has spurred the creation of over 330,000 new jobs nationwide, with Arizona ranking seventh in the country with 18,130 good-paying clean energy jobs announced since the IRA’s passage.Climate and clean energy investments also total $11.81 billion in Arizona, the 10th highest in the nation.
As Vice President, Kamala Harris cast the tie-breaking vote to pass the clean energy plan which will triple the nation’s clean energy supply. In just two years, the legislation is lowering energy costs, cleaning up our air and water, and bringing good-paying jobs to big cities and small towns across the country. Donald Trump and the GOP want to repeal the clean energy plan – putting thousands of good jobs at risk and raising energy prices.
“The clean energy plan has created over 330,000 good-paying jobs in communities across the country – and Donald Trump is willing to put every single one at risk to benefit his Big Oil donors,” said Lori Lodes, executive director of Climate Power. “Vice President Harris cast the deciding vote to triple clean energy production, which is lowering energy costs and revitalizing communities. The choice between Harris and Trump couldn’t be clearer: a bright, clean energy future with lower energy costs and major investments in American energy and communities; or Big Oil’s unchecked agenda to profiteer and pollute.”
