Vance Heads Home to Ohio as Affordability Crisis Caused by His Administration Hits Ohioans

Trump, Vance and congressional Republicans’ policies have raised costs for the average Ohio family by nearly $2,200  — and Jon Husted has rubber-stamped it all.

Washington, DC – JD Vance is heading home to Ohio today to try and sell Ohioans snake oil. Whether trying to shift blame for $4.08 per gallon of gas or trying to spin the disastrous impacts of the Republican budget bill, Vance won’t be able to escape the truth — Trump has cost Ohio families thousands of dollars extra, and JD Vance has happily helped. A recent report by Climate Power and the Center for American Progress Action Fund found that Trump’s policies have raised costs for the average Ohio household by nearly $2,200 through the first half of 2026 — climbing to more than $3,600 for families who buy coverage on the ACA marketplace — driven by higher gas prices, higher utility bills, and Trump’s tariffs

REMINDER: The damage doesn’t stop there — AAA data shows the average price of a gallon of regular gas in Ohio sits above  $4, a massive increase compared to before Trump launched his war of choice with Iran. And to make matters worse, this August has been “the most expensive” on record, and JD Vance and Jon Husted have happily rubber-stamped every last cost-raising measure Trump has pushed onto Ohio voters.

So let’s take a look at just a few of the devastating highlights of Trump, Vance and Jon Husted’s failed leadership in Ohio:
