VICE PRESIDENT HARRIS’ COLORADO VISIT WILL HIGHLIGHT HOW BIDEN-HARRIS ADMINISTRATION IS ACCELERATING OUR CLEAN ENERGY ECONOMY

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Vice President Harris’ Colorado visit will highlight how the Biden-Harris Administration’s clean energy plan is turbocharging the state’s clean energy economy and fighting climate change. The Biden administration’s clean energy plan incentives private sector growth in the clean energy economy, creating good-paying jobs that don’t require four-year degrees. 

Thanks to the Biden-Harris Administration’s clean energy plan, Colorado’s economy is thriving—and providing new jobs for the Centennial State. According to Climate Power’s latest Clean Energy Jobs Report, in the months since the Inflation Reduction Act passed, over $1 billion has been invested to turbocharge Colorado’s economy, creating over 1,400 clean energy jobs. 

Some examples of Colorado’s turbocharged clean energy economy: 

• Last fall, CS Wind announced it would triple its workforce at its Pueblo, CO plant, creating 680 new jobs. CS Wind’s Pueblo plant is the world’s largest wind turbine manufacturing plant. 
• In February, Microchip announced that the company would expand its Colorado Springs factory to meet the demand for silicon carbide, a critical ingredient in a wide range of clean energy technologies. The expansion will create 400 new jobs. 
• Amprius announced it would invest nearly $200 million for a new gigafactory in Brighton. The factory will create 300 new jobs. 

Additionally, the Biden-Harris administration’s affordable clean energy plan has invested in bold climate resiliency programs and cost-saving efficiency projects. Last year, the Department of Energy announced that Colorado would be receiving over $140,381,240 in home energy rebate funding to lower energy costs and make homes more energy efficient.
