WINTER IS COMING: Trump’s War in Iran Set to Decimate American Families’ Heating Bills this Winter 

A new forecast from National Energy Assistance Directors Association (NEADA) estimates households using heating oil will see bills increase over 30% from last winter

Washington, DC – Mortgage rates are astronomical, groceries (if not already recalled) are unaffordable, and now, keeping your home warm this winter will cost American families up to 31.3% more than last year as a result of Trump’s war of choice in Iran. 

A forecast released earlier this week from NEADA estimates that households that use heating oil to power their furnaces and boilers will pay an average of nearly $2,300 in total this winter — up over $540 as compared to last year. 

This massive price increase is a direct result of Trump and Republicans’ war in Iran. Before Trump’s war, crude oil traded at about $72 per barrel. The price is now above $100 per barrel because of disruptions to oil supplies and shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, with no sign of Republicans taking real action to slow this price rise.

This increase in home heating costs is in addition to the higher cost Americans are already paying at the pump – as the national average surges to $4.47 for regular fuel and $6.45 for diesel,  according to AAA, over a dollar more than a year ago for gas.

Instead of listening to the American people and taking action to address the affordability crisis, Trump, America’s White Walker in Chief, and his Republican friends are advancing a war that is padding the pockets of their Oil and Gas donors. Once again, American families are facing the consequences of Trump and Republicans’ selfish actions – but they’re ready to hold them accountable this November.
