Project 2025: A Plan to Take Total Control
Project 2025 is a 920-page roadmap for right-wing MAGA extremists to take total control of our country, strip us of our fundamental freedoms, and leave us with even less freedom and less control over our own lives. It would ban medication abortion in every state, prohibit Medicare from negotiating lower drug prices, and put all our climate progress on the chopping block.
That means gutting environmental protections that prevent oil and gas companies from polluting our air and water.
It means severely limiting our ability to prepare for and respond to extreme weather events and climate disasters.
It means cutting investments in clean energy manufacturing here in the US, slashing good-paying jobs, leaving Americans with fewer energy options, and raising our taxes and energy bills.
Project 2025 is the MAGA extremist agenda. We can’t let Project 2025 harm middle-class families.
Here’s what else you need to know about Project 2025’s plans for our climate:
- Remove protections for public lands and let Big Oil drill in some of our most sacred places to pad their profits—including opening up the Arctic to drilling.
- Eliminate the National Weather Service as we know it, which Americans rely on to make life and death decisions when storms, fires, or other extreme weather events are approaching.
- Put polluters over people. It would gut the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the EPA’s ability to protect people from toxic pollution.
- Remove the U.S. from the Paris Climate Agreement again.
- Encourage officials to appoint Big Oil executives to powerful positions that oversee protecting people from toxic pollution and preserving our public lands.
- Replace thousands of nonpartisan civil servants with far-right political appointees, including those responsible for climate science.
- Pad the profits of polluters, by giving even more tax cuts to Oil and Gas billionaire CEOs – which is unsurprising, since it was written by Big Oil and for Big Oil.
And when it’s all said and done, Project 2025 would eliminate the climate progress we’ve made and make it nearly impossible to pass any climate action in the future.
