NEW AD: Climate Power Makes the Case to Congress It’s Time to Deliver a ‘Big Win’ for Families by Passing the Build Back Better Act

WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Climate Power is launching the ad “A Big Win” on DC cable TV and digital channels to make the case for Congress to seize this moment to strengthen the economy by investing in clean energy jobs here in America that will help lower our energy costs. This is part of a $3 million advertising buy from climate and clean energy groups — Clean Energy for America, Climate Power, EDF Action, LCV and NRDC Action Fund — leading up to President Biden’s State of the Union.

“People are feeling the impacts of a changing climate more than ever before as fossil fuel prices strain household budgets,” said Lori Lodes, Climate Power Executive Director. “The Build Back Better Act is the last best chance for President Biden and Democrats in Congress to put us on a clear path to cutting climate pollution in half by 2030. It will put people to work building a 21st century clean energy economy that provides quality jobs while reducing costs for families.”

The new ad from Climate Power highlights the economic benefits taking bold climate action will bring for workers and families. A recent letter from the American Clean Power Association to Congressional leaders pointed out that, “The Build Back Better Act will more than double clean energy investment to $750 billion over the next ten years, supporting one million, good-paying American jobs over the same period of time. As a result, the United States will be able to reach 750 GW of wind, solar and battery storage by 2030 and cut power sector emissions by nearly 70% below 2005 levels. That is the equivalent of 175 million American homes being powered by low-cost, reliable clean energy.”
