President Biden Pushes to Build Back Better by Creating Millions of Clean Energy Jobs and Tackling Climate Change
Washington, D.C. – Today, President Joe Biden delivered a major speech in Crystal Lake, Illinois where he laid out how his administration will build our country back better with the investments needed to grow our economy and tackle climate change. The President’s commitment to Build Back Better through reconciliation centers on the need for job-creating clean energy tax incentives, creating a standard to move the country to 100% clean electricity and building a more just and equitable future by investing directly in disadvantaged communities.
“This is our climate moment. We can’t afford to kick the can down the road any longer,” said Lori Lodes, Climate Power executive director. “People in America are dying from severe heat, bracing for storms, and losing their homes to wildfires and their farms to drought. We can fix this — the American worker can fix this — but it’s up to Congress to take action now to build back better with clean energy. That means a reconciliation bill that reduces pollution, moves us to 100% clean electricity, and centers new opportunities and justice for frontline communities. That’s the only way we build a clean energy future and truly tackle climate change.”
