Canceled: Department of Energy Cuts Hit Republican Districts in North Carolina

Raleigh, N.C. — Cancel culture comes to the Tar Heel state, as Trump threatens to cancel an additional $12 Billion in investment that would have lowered costs and created jobs. The list of potential cancellations now totals $24 billion, hurting both Republican- and Democratic-led states. North Carolina faces hundreds of millions of dollars of cuts in Republican districts alone, as seen below:

NC-06NORTH CAROLINAAddison P. McDowell$217,349,311.87
NC-07NORTH CAROLINADavid Rouzer$11,436,783.00
NC-14NORTH CAROLINATim Moore$55,113,269.72

“These cuts harm North Carolinians, by taking away people’s livelihoods and undermining the progress our state has made as a clean energy business leader,” says Terryn Hall, North Carolina State Director for Climate Power. “Energy prices are rising across the state, and we can’t afford to take away the clean energy infrastructure that would help us lower costs. Republicans in North Carolina have a choice: they can stand up to Trump, or they can explain to voters why they stood by as utility costs skyrocketed.”
