Washington, D.C. – After a focus on cost-of-living messages led to a Democratic sweep in the 2025 elections, Trump did what he does best when he’s backed into a corner: denied reality. He claimed that energy costs are “way down.” Trump promised to slash costs in half in his first year in office, but electricity bills are up 11% nationally since he took office. Trump’s war on clean energy has made energy more expensive and cut more than 158,000 clean energy jobs. Trump has done nothing to lower costs, and the election results this week show that Americans are fed up.
