Trump Continues His Gaslighting Tour as Electricity Prices in Pennsylvania Spike 19% On His Watch

Pennsylvania Republicans voted to gut clean energy projects across the state, squeezing energy supply as demand skyrockets

Trump will be speaking at a truck factory that recently laid off up to 350 workers thanks to his reckless policies

Washington, DC – After claiming that he was “crushing” inflation and calling affordability concerns a “hoax” during his last visit to Pennsylvania, Trump is heading back to the Keystone State amidst soaring electricity prices and inflation that has spiked to multi-year highs thanks to his war of choice in Iran. While it may be a “golden age” for Trump and his billionaire buddies, the reality for voters in the Keystone State could not be more different.

Ten clean energy projects in Pennsylvania have been canceled or delayed on Trump’s watch, threatening 1,114 jobs and over $194 million in investment. His clean energy cuts were projected to take enough energy to power nearly 10.4 million homes for a year off the grid. Representative Ryan Mackenzie, whose district Trump will be visiting, voted for the GOP budget bill that gutted clean energy supply across the state. On top of Trump’s disastrous energy agenda, experts agree that getting back to “normal” prices will be a “lengthy process” after Trump’s war of choice.

Climate Power Senior Advisor Jesse Lee issued the following statement: “As Pennsylvania families gear up to celebrate the 4th of July, electricity prices have spiked by 19% in the state and everything from hot dogs to beer is more expensive thanks to Trump’s war of choice. But instead of focusing on lowering costs, Trump has been obsessing with ballrooms, reflecting pools, and slush funds for his friends. Now he’s heading to Pennsylvania to tell us not to believe our own lying eyes or our own dwindling bank accounts.. Life must be nice for Trump and ‘Rubber Stamp’ Mackenzie , but Pennsylvanians who are paying a fortune to cool their homes and fill up their tanks will bring them back into the real world in November.”

Here’s how disastrous Trump and Rep. Mackenzie  have been for Pennsylvania:
