Over 330,000 New Clean Energy Jobs Created in Two Years Since Passage of the Inflation Reduction Act

Washington, D.C.  — In the two years since the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act,  the Biden-Harris administration has helped create over 330,000 new clean energy jobs. Vice President Harris cast the tie-breaking vote for a plan to triple clean energy production, helping Americans save $38 billion on electricity bills. A majority of clean energy jobs are being created in GOP districts – which hasn’t stopped Donald Trump from vowing to repeal the law, putting good-paying jobs at risk. 

“Two years ago, Vice President Harris cast the deciding vote to pass the Inflation Reduction Act and triple clean energy production, creating good-paying jobs in communities across the country and helping Americans save billions on electricity bills,” said Lori Lodes, Executive Director of Climate Power. “Donald Trump’s dangerous Big Oil-backed Project 2025 agenda would repeal the clean energy plan, leading to 1.7 million job losses by 2030 and increase household energy bills by hundreds of dollars. The stakes of this election are clear. Vice President Harris is building a clean energy future that increases jobs, lowers costs for American families, and protects our air and water, while Donald Trump would sell out working families to benefit Big Oil.”

These new jobs and industries are already creating an explosion of clean energy choices, and drop in costs, after just two years of the clean energy plan.
