Trump Pledges to Again Withhold Disaster Aid From Americans Threatened By Extreme Weather

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Just days after bombshell reporting on Donald Trump’s record of withholding disaster aid from states that didn’t vote for him, last night, Trump promised to do it again, declaring that he’d withhold aid for wildfires from California unless the state bowed to his bizarre, unhinged demands. Trump has spent weeks endangering hurricane relief efforts by spewing lie-filled rants, putting Americans in greater danger when they need help the most. Now, on the campaign trail, while denying the true cause of extreme weather, he’s actively vowing to withhold aid from Americans suffering from its impacts if elected president.

Climate Power Communications Director Alex Glass issued the following statement: “Donald Trump has spent weeks putting Americans at greater risk by politicizing hurricane response with a constant barrage of lies to help his campaign. The health and safety of Americans suffering from back-to-back climate disasters means so little to Trump that he’s issuing open threats to do far worse if he’s elected to a second term. Trump is such a danger to the American people that he won’t just watch as the world burns; he’ll light fire himself.”
