ICYMI: New Report Shows Arizona Manufacturing Jobs at Risk If Current House Budget Bill Becomes Law

Phoenix – A new analysis from the BlueGreen Alliance warns that over 2 million U.S. manufacturing jobs are at risk under the budget reconciliation bill passed by the U.S. House and currently being considered in the U.S. Senate. The bill would gut clean manufacturing tax credits—posing a direct threat to economic growth and job creation.
This total includes:
- Nearly 300,000 direct manufacturing jobs at facilities supported by clean manufacturing tax credits
- Over 1 million indirect jobs down the supply chain
- Nearly 643,000 induced jobs created by the economic stimulus of the direct and indirect jobs
Arizona is among seven states with more than 100,000 jobs at risk, according to the report. The state also stands to gain significantly from clean energy tax incentives—projected to boost manufacturing employment by at least 5 percent if preserved. Without them, Arizona’s emerging manufacturing sector faces an uncertain future.
The report underlines the stakes for Arizona’s workforce and economy at a critical moment for clean energy and industrial growth.
