ICYMI: Outpouring of Support for Clean Energy Jobs and Investments Under Threat in Wisconsin
tags
Madison, WI— Over the past month, a surge of business leaders, union workers, elected officials, and non-profit organizations have stepped up in calling for Congress to protect the clean energy tax credits that are on the chopping block in the GOP-written Big Beautiful Bill. Leaders across the political spectrum have written op-eds, letters to the editor, sent letters to their members of Congress, and hosted press conferences outlining what is at stake for Wisconsin if these cuts are enacted and the Republican Rate Hike takes effect.
Wisconsin has seen $5.44 billion in new clean energy investment, and 2,732 new clean energy jobs since passage of federal clean energy tax credits– 96% of those jobs in Republican districts. However, if the Wisconsin congressional delegation votes to pass this bill into law, our state’s manufacturing boom will be on the chopping block.

Republicans in Congress are pushing forward with a full “sledgehammer” repeal of America’s clean energy investments that would crater American energy production, raise energy prices, and cost us hundreds of thousands of good-paying manufacturing jobs. With oil prices at risk of skyrocketing due to escalating tensions in the Middle East, it would be unthinkable to raise energy costs even more with a new Republican Rate Hike.
