SHOT/CHASER: As Governor, Doug Burgum Praised Clean Energy; Now He’s Restricting It For Republican Governors

Washington, D.C.  — While governor of North Dakota, Doug Burgum praised clean energy for creating jobs, boosting the state’s economy, and helping to meet energy demand. This week, Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo sent a letter complaining that Sec. Burgum’s restrictions on clean energy through the Department of the Interior have frozen critical solar projects in his state – threatening its ability to meet energy demand. In Nevada, solar power makes up 41.5% of generated electricity.

SHOT: As governor of North Dakota, Doug Burgum praised clean energy as part of an “all-inclusive” approach to meeting energy demand, even proclaiming a “Clean Energy Week” in the state in 2024.

CHASER: As Secretary of the Interior, Burgum is depriving governors of both parties of the renewable energy they need to prevent utility bills from skyrocketing.
