Washington, DC – With less than seven months until the midterm elections, the news just keeps getting worse for vulnerable Republicans hoping to keep their jobs this November. After Democrats made significant gains in elections from Georgia to Wisconsin on Tuesday, polling from Navigator Research shows that 60% of voters blame Trump and Republicans for the recent rise in gas prices. 

Republicans voted to take energy projects off the grid that would have protected Americans from global oil shocks and now, they’re paying the political price. Last night, that became abundantly clear when liberal candidates who support cheap, reliable clean energy won control of Arizona’s second largest utility in a race that garnered national attention. Instead of facing their constituents, Republican members of Congress are hiding away in Scottish castles and scrambling to come up with excuses for why their own policies have left Americans paying more for everything from groceries to plane tickets.
