Ads Educating North Carolinians about Federal Cuts to Disaster Funding End Soon

Raleigh, NC — From Medicaid to SNAP benefits to disaster funding, cuts to programs families rely on will put pressure on the state of North Carolina to fill the gaps left by the Trump administration. Last week, Climate Power launched digital billboards across the Triangle area, educating North Carolinians on Donald Trump’s record of gutting disaster funding. These billboards, which run through September 1, show images of recent extreme weather disasters and say: “Lives depend on disaster funding. Why is Trump cutting it?”

The ads—displayed across Raleigh and Durham on digital billboards and urban panels—are part of a six-figure ad buy across key congressional districts in North Carolina, Texas, and Iowa. As North Carolinians recover from climate-fueled extreme weather like Tropical Storm Chantal and Hurricanes Helene and Erin, the Trump administration’s gutting of disaster preparedness will put more lives at risk and leave North Carolinians to foot the bill for rebuilding after disasters.
