Biden’s Latest Auto Announcement Guarantees Countless Good American Jobs, Which Trump is Pledging to Kill

Washington, D.C. – This morning, the Biden-Harris Administration announced $1.7 billion to support the conversion of 11 shuttered or at-risk auto manufacturing facilities in Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, and Virginia. These plants will now have a bright future in manufacturing electric vehicles and keeping their supply chains here in the United States.

“President Biden continues to fight for American auto workers, ensuring America will continue to lead for decades ahead building the cheaper, cleaner vehicles that the world demands, providing millions of good-paying union jobs that working people can raise a family on,” said Heather Hargreaves, Deputy Executive Director of Campaigns at Climate Power. “This is a perfect example of what Donald Trump wants to tear down as part of his war on clean energy, which he is waging as part of what he calls his billion-dollar ‘deal’ with oil executives. Donald Trump would pull the rug out from American clean energy businesses, send hundreds of thousands of jobs overseas, and strip all Americans of cheaper, cleaner energy choices, all so Big Oil will pay his legal bills and fund his lying campaign. Over 11,000 auto jobs were shipped overseas under Trump’s disastrous presidency, and by siding with China’s push to overturn Biden’s clean energy investments, Trump is promising that number will be far higher if he gets another chance.”
