Lansing, MI. – Climate Power’s latest clean energy boom report shows that in just two years since the passage of the clean energy plan, the law has helped create over 334,565 new jobs and sparked $372 billion in new investments in 47 states and Puerto Rico.
Michigan continues to be a national leader in the Clean Energy Revolution. 21,748 new jobs have been created in Michigan since the passage of the clean energy plan, with 167,000 new jobs projected in the next 10 years. Michigan leads the nation with 62 new projects made possible by the $26.63 billion invested in the state. Donald Trump has committed to reverse this progress, and Michigan families cannot afford to go back.
As Vice President, Kamala Harris cast the tie-breaking vote to pass the clean energy plan which will triple the nation’s clean energy supply. In just two years, the legislation is lowering energy costs, cleaning up our air and water, and bringing good-paying jobs to big cities and small towns across the country. Donald Trump wants to repeal the clean energy plan – putting over 330,000 jobs at risk and raising energy prices.
“The clean energy plan has created over 330,000 good-paying jobs in communities across the country – and Donald Trump is willing to put every single one at risk to benefit his Big Oil donors,” said Lori Lodes, executive director of Climate Power. “Vice President Harris cast the deciding vote to triple clean energy production, which is lowering energy costs and revitalizing communities. The choice between Harris and Trump couldn’t be clearer: a bright, clean energy future with lower energy costs and major investments in American energy and communities; or Big Oil’s unchecked agenda to profiteer and pollute.”
