Climate Contrast is Clear: Harris Will Lower Costs & Trump Will Gut Clean Energy Jobs

Trump’s Project 2025 agenda will raise costs for American families, destroy millions of jobs, and benefit his Big Oil donors

Washington, D.C. — Tonight, while Trump came undone at the seams, spewing incoherent conspiracy theories, Kamala Harris clearly laid out her plan to lower energy costs, create good-paying jobs, and fight the climate crisis. Donald Trump, on the other hand, will put hundreds of thousands of jobs at risk. In response to the debate, Climate Power Executive  Director Lori Lodes released the following statement: 

“In a week when extreme heat, wildfires, and hurricanes are threatening Americans across the country, Kamala Harris stood out on the debate stage as the only candidate who will act on climate. She has taken on corporate polluters, cast the tie-breaking vote to triple clean energy production, and created good-paying jobs while lowering energy costs for the middle class. 

“Donald Trump, a climate-denier who has promised to be a dictator on day one to do the bidding of the oil and gas industry, only cares about himself and his Big Oil donors. For our economy, our health, and our future, Americans – especially young voters – know that we can not go back to someone who treats climate change as a hoax, and that’s why Kamala Harris will win this election, just like she won tonight’s debate.”
