Climate Power Applauds States Suing Trump For Repealing the Endangerment Finding

The repeal of the endangerment finding is projected to cost Americans billions of dollars while fueling more asthma, heat stroke, and other illnesses – all to satisfy Trump’s billionaire oil donors.

Washington, DC – After Trump’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) took the most pro-pollution action in modern American history by repealing the endangerment finding, 24 states are suing the Trump administration for erasing the federal government’s obligation to protect Americans from climate pollution. At every turn, the Trump administration has chosen corporate polluters over American families, making people sicker and raising costs.

Climate Power Senior Advisor Alex Witt issued the following statement: “Trump’s decision to repeal the endangerment finding is the single most pro-pollution act by any president in modern American history. By eliminating the rule that forced the government to limit carbon pollution, Trump is making one thing clear: he will happily put all of our health at risk to line the pockets of polluters. His war on clean energy has cost hundreds of thousands of jobs, his war of choice in Iran is driving up the price of gas at a historic clip, and the repeal of the endangerment finding will do nothing but allow the release of more toxins into our air and our water. We applaud these states for doing the right thing, even though we know the administration won’t. Shame on Trump and his Republican enablers in Congress.”
