CLIMATE POWER CALLS ON CONGRESS TO FINISH THE JOB AND DELIVER CLIMATE ACTION

Washington, D.C. – After the House passed the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and supported climate action by advancing the rule for Build Back Better Act, Lori Lodes, Climate Power executive director, issued the following statement:

“While the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act passed tonight makes critical investments in building climate resilient infrastructure, Congress must now pass the Build Back Better Act if we are to meet this code red moment. The Build Back Better Act is the economic package that passes the Climate Test by cutting pollution at the speed the science says is necessary. It will create millions of jobs, reduce household energy costs, and deliver justice to those on the frontlines. The future of the planet is at stake. Congress needs to build on the progress they made to finish the job. This is our climate moment, failure is not an option.”
