Climate Power, NV Dems Highlight Billions in Clean Energy Investments to Rural Nevada

Elko, NV – Climate Power and the Nevada State Democratic Party co-hosted a community gathering alongside Nevada workers to highlight the boom in good-paying clean jobs spurred by the Biden-Harris Clean Energy Plan. In less than two years, more than $10 billion dollars has flowed to Nevada’s 2nd Congressional District, creating more than 13,000 jobs and putting it among the top 10 districts with the highest clean energy investments.
“The clean energy boom is good for our health, our energy resilience, our economy, and it addresses one of the largest threats we face: climate change,” said Nevada State Democratic Party Chair Daniele Monroe-Moreno. “Yet Republicans like Donald Trump, Joe Lombardo, and Sam Brown deny the science of climate change and are actively preventing our nation from continuing to lead and grow one of the most high-demand industries in the world. Now more than ever, we have to accelerate our fight against the effects of climate change and invest in clean energy and good-paying jobs in Nevada.”
“The clean energy revolution is happening right here in rural Nevada,” said Assemblywoman Natha Anderson. “Clean energy jobs and investments are expanding our state’s leadership in the clean energy revolution through solar and battery manufacturing – helping our local businesses and bringing good-paying jobs to our community. I’m proud of Nevada’s Democratic leadership and am committed to continue helping build the investment in our clean energy revolution so that Nevadans can continue to benefit from clean energy.”
