Climate Power Statement on Donald Trump’s Festivus in August

Washington, D.C. – Tonight, Donald Trump celebrated Festivus four months early with an extra weird airing of grievances during an even weirder interview with Elon Musk. Donald Trump expressed ideas about clean energy and climate change that are out of step with the vast majority of American voters.

Climate Power Communications Director Alex Glass issued the following statement: “Donald Trump has promised to be a dictator on day one, and tonight, he gave us a preview of exactly how dangerous he would be if given a second term. No one suffering the impacts of Tropical Storm Debby thinks climate change will create more beachfront property – they know it threatens their homes, safety, and loved ones. Donald Trump puts himself and his Big Oil billionaire funders ahead of the health and safety of hardworking Americans. Trump can’t be trusted with the power of the Presidency; he can’t even be trusted to make it through a glitchy interview without putting billionaires ahead of the middle class.”
