Climate Power Statement on President Biden’s New Pollution Standards

New anti-pollution standards for cars and large trucks will improve our health, and help clean up Big Oil’s mess

Washington, D.C. –  In response to today’s finalized EPA pollution standards for heavy-duty vehicles, the latest step from the Biden administration to protect our clean air, Climate Power senior advisor for oil and gas Alex Witt issued the following statement:

“President Biden and the EPA’s new pollution standards for heavy-duty vehicles are an important step forward in improving the health of our nation’s truckers and the communities that they drive through each day. Taken together with last week’s clean car standards, President Biden has enacted the strongest set of road sector pollution standards ever – and they will protect our health, slash pollution, and save Americans money.

“In the past week, President Biden has gotten two important environmental and economic wins across the finish line. These clean car and truck standards will make our communities healthier and more resilient in the face of a climate crisis fueled by Big Oil and other corporate polluters. Meanwhile, Donald Trump spent the week in court, playing golf, and fielding calls from multi-billionaires, including oil tycoon Harold Hamm, who is headlining his next big fundraiser. Americans deserve a president who puts our health and economic well-being ahead of the bottom line of his wealthy donors.”
