Washington, D.C. – After an historic first 100 days in office, including passage of the American Rescue Plan, more than 200 million shots in arms, and bold action on climate, President Biden’s next 100 days are focused on passage of the American Jobs Plan and American Families Plan.

Today, Lori Lodes, executive director of Climate Power, issued the following statement on President Joe Biden’s 100th day in office and the need for Congress to immediately pass the American Jobs Plan:

“President Biden has unified the country behind his historic economic recovery agenda, bringing together everyone from climate activists to union workers to caregivers and family advocates. These plans will not only heal our country from the devastation of the pandemic, they will allow us to build back better than ever before.

“As the president says, climate action equals jobs. Now it’s time for Congress to get to work immediately and pass the American Jobs plan so we can create millions of new good-paying, union jobs. Big, bold investments in clean energy and infrastructure will create new jobs and opportunities in every town, city, and state in the country. These transformational plans are both good policy and good politics, and it’s essential that Congress deliver what voters expect and our economy needs. America can’t wait.”

Voters Overwhelmingly Back the Americans Jobs Plan, Clean Energy Investments

Over two-thirds of voters (68 percent) support the American Jobs Plan, even when given only minimal information about the plan. Bipartisan support for the American Jobs Plan grows (71 percent) when voters are given more information about the climate and clean energy components of the plan.
