WASHINGTON, D.C. – In tonight’s debate, Donald Trump added a new chapter to his storied record as Climate-Denier-in-Chief, ignoring the science and the voters, who see the climate crisis as an urgent threat.
Trump made 1,065 false or misleading claims about the environment while in office, had climate science scrubbed from government websites, and has called climate change…
- a “hoax”
- a “total con job,”
- “bullshit!”
- a concept “created by and for the Chinese”
…as Americans suffer from extreme weather and demand action from our leaders:
- FACT: 62% of swing voters find the GOP’s climate denialism very concerning,
- FACT: In a 2023 poll, 64% of U.S adults said both that they’d recently experienced extreme weather and believed it was caused by climate change.
- FACT: 2-in-3 voters are now worried about threats from climate change to their communities and view it as a kitchen table issue.
- FACT: 55% of voters believe that climate change is “serious and urgent,” including 71% of Black voters and 61% of voters under 45.
