FLOTUS to Tout Georgia’s Workforce Development Initiatives Under Bidenomics

Augusta, GA – Today, First Lady Jill Biden will meet with Augusta Mayor Garnett L. Johnson along with representatives from technical colleges, local businesses, and trade unions to discuss the importance of workforce development initiatives in the state. Named a “Workforce Hub” by the Biden Administration, Georgia has partnered with the federal government to expand its job training and workforce diversity as an influx of new green jobs become available.

Since the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act, Georgia has become a powerhouse for solar and electric vehicle manufacturing. Across the state, new clean energy projects have opened the door for a stunning $21.9 billion in investment and more than 19,000 good-paying clean energy jobs. With over 29 new clean energy projects, the state has the second highest investment in renewable energy and the second-most clean energy jobs in the country.
