Gas Prices in Battleground States Continue to Skyrocket Thanks to Trump

49 states saw their gas prices increase by 10 cents or more per gallon, 18 of those states saw their gas prices increase by 50 cents or more 

The national average price of gas increased at the fastest pace since Hurricane Katrina, following Trump’s war in Iran  

Washington, DC – On the campaign trail, Donald Trump promised to “put America first” and lower energy costs, but instead, he is dragging the country into a dangerous and costly war that is sending gas prices through the roof in red and blue states across the country. 

Republican lawmakers were already scrambling to do damage control as their energy policies sent utility bills soaring. Now, with just 8 months until the midterm elections, vulnerable Republicans are frantically trying to find excuses for why Trump’s war is leaving their constituents with surging prices at the pump, but don’t buy their spin. 

Georgia

According to the AAA, the average price for a gallon of gas in Georgia has climbed to about $3.32, roughly 44 cents higher than just one week ago. The national average is currently sitting around $3.54 per gallon, reflecting a broader trend affecting drivers nationwide.

Iowa 

KGAN: Iowa sees one of nation’s largest weekly jumps in gas, diesel prices

Iowa recorded the third-largest increase in regular gasoline prices in the country over the past week, while diesel prices posted the largest jump nationwide, according to data shared by GasBuddy.

The average price of regular gasoline in Iowa rose 35.6 cents per gallon compared with the previous week, ranking third among all states for the biggest increase, according to figures released by Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.

Maine
