Grand Oil Party: Fossil Fuel Interests Dominate Trump’s Palm Beach Fundraiser

Trump’s Campaign is Funded by Big Oil, Who Hope a Trump Presidency Will Pad Their Dirty Money

Washington, D.C. – Today, Grand Oil Party donors with ties to fossil fuels are lining up to provide a much-needed cash influx to Donald Trump’s campaign. From oil tycoon Harold Hamm, who’s co-chairing the event and tried helping Donald Trump with his $175 million civil fraud bond, to the billionaire host John Paulson, who invested millions in oil and gas company shares, Big Oil is showing up to try to get Trump a second term in office. During Donald Trump’s presidency, oil and gas giants received a $25 billion tax break and free rein to pollute our air and water – it’s no wonder they’re hoping to pad their bottom line with a second Trump term.

Ahead of the event, Climate Power senior advisor for oil and gas Alex Witt released the following statement:

“Donald Trump’s presidency was a boon for Big Oil – and they’re desperate to get him back into office so they can pad their profits at the expense of families and the health of our planet. President Biden has held Big Oil accountable, making sure they finally pay more in taxes on their billions in profits. President Biden has expanded investments in clean energy, bringing over 271,000 new jobs to communities across the country, lowering energy costs, and making our air and water cleaner. Big Oil will do anything to get Trump back in office so they can keep the country hooked on dangerous, unreliable fossil fuels and make billions at the expense of the health of our communities.”
