ICYMI: Biden’s Investing in America Tour Shares the Story of Bidenomics to Communities Across the Country

Washington, D.C. – Across the country, President Biden and his cabinet, along with First Lady Jill Biden, is making the case for Bidenomics, and sharing the story of how his clean energy plan is delivering for communities across the country. Stops from the last few weeks include: Maryland, Arizona, Kansas, Vermont, South Carolina, Ohio, Georgia, and Pennsylvania, to name a few.

Here’s a roundup of how the Biden administration is spotlighting climate and clean energy investments across the country: 

President Biden: 

• In South Carolina, President Biden toured a Columbia facility that is making microinverters for the first time in the U.S. During his remarks, the president announced the creation of 600 new jobs in the state through a partnership between Flex LTD and Enphase Energy made possible by the Inflation Reduction Act. The visit was covered by WCSC-CHS, WHNS, WIS – COL, WISTV, Charleston City Paper, Renewable Energy Magazine, Reuters, and NBC News. 

Vice President Harris: 

• In Baltimore, Vice President Kamala Harris announced $20 billion in clean energy technology grants. She was joined by Senator Tom Carper, Senator Ed Markey, Senator Chris Van Hollen, Congressman Frank Pallone, Congressman David Trone, Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Michael Regan, and Maryland Lieutenant Governor Aruna Miller. • Vice President Harris also stopped in Arizona to meet with tribal leaders, construction crews, and engineers, who are installing a new reclaimed water pipeline project. First Lady Jill Biden:

Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland: 

• In Kansas, Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland toured orphaned gas wells in Johnson County, where she announced a $650 million investment from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. This investment is aimed at plugging thousands of gas wells across the state. The announcement was covered by KSN News, The Kansas City Star, and The Hill.

• Last week, Secretary Haaland also visited Burlington, Vermont to promote a $25 million investment in the Northern Forest region funded by the Inflation Reduction Act.
